I love using Full Frame traditional DSLR cameras, I also use mirrorless cameras as well so I am not in a crusade against mirrorless.
I make no bones about the fact that I think they are still the best way to go for professional photography, based simply on a number of factors that I will discuss below. Now don’t get me wrong I am not saying mirrorless caberas are no-good or that Ido not use them. I love the smaller size that mirrorless bodies offer and I think that the latest generation of mirrorless cameras, especially from makers like Fujifilm to be really exciting cameras. What I am saying though for me there are a number of factors that still make the traditional DSLR hard to beat in a commercial environment/ So here is why I am still using big heavy Nikon DSLRs:
Battery Time:
Firstly a traditional DSLR gives you a far better number of shots per battery than a mirrorless camera will. I can get roughly three times the amount of shots out of a DSLR on one battery than I can out of a mirrorless body. That means I have to carry less spare batteries on a days shooting and I have to change them a lot less them with a mirrorless body.
